WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A SISTER

Gamma Psi is a sisterhood that promotes Virtue, Compassion, and Fellowship through acceptance based on moral character. Sisters maintain positive morale, respect individual beliefs, command self-respect, have integrity, are leaders, promote community service, excel at academics, and have high personal standards. Gamma Psi sisters promote a congenial attitude toward the college, other organizations, the community and toward their sisters. The Gamma Psi sisterhood promotes loyalty, pride and equality; and will not deny acceptance on the basis of race, religion, social status, financial situation, disability or sexual preference. Pledges will be evaluated based on individual strengths and how those strengths will contribute to the unity of the sisterhood. Students who are interested in Gamma Psi should attend Interest events, Rush Week activities and get to know current sisters on campus. If you have questions, please email GammaPsiYHC@gmail.com or email the Office of Campus Activities. Please visit the college website for current information regarding Greek Life Recruitment.

ELIGIBILITY

ABOUT GREEK LIFE RECRUITMENT

The Young Harris College Greek system currently holds one formal rush week and Membership Intake Process (MIP) each fall and spring academic semester. The MIP is the potential new member period in which a candidate for membership in a Greek organization becomes acquainted with the organization’s purposes and goals and learns the requirements for membership and the traditions of that organization. There may be a small fee to participate.

RUSH WEEK:

Rush week consists of information nights, preference parties and bid day for potential Greek members.

HAZING

Young Harris College upholds the position on hazing adopted by the Association of Fraternity Advisors (AFA) and Fraternal Information and Programming Group (FIPG). For more detailed information, please see the full Hazing Policy.
